Chapter 1
An Adventure Begins!
The dark sky was lit up with stars. Shooting stars crossed the sky. A little boy came running around the beautiful flowers that covered Pacifico Island, throwing little seeds everywhere. “That man in black was very smart to come up with this idea!” said the boy excitedly. “I’m doing this puny island a favour! Ha ha! The island is in for a very big surprise when they wake up!!!!” He laughed crazily and ran off planting more of the nightmare that was going to happen for Pacifico Island.
The sun was rising fast. Axys, a teenage boy was running late for warrior training. “Oh, great! Late again!” Axys got out of his pyjamas and put on his new warrior armour his Dad gave him. “Hey this is lighter then I thought!” He opened the door to Chucker’s room (His brother and trainer instructor) and saw him lying in bed snoring away. “Oh well, at least it won’t be my fault that I didn’t get to train,” Axys said. Axys decided to get out and get the morning air. “Ahhh! That’s refreshing!” he said as he breathed in and out the crisp air. As suddenly as he breathed in again, Mear, a neighbour came running as fast as he could to Axys. “Whoa, Mear! Why are you such in a hurry?” Axys questioned. “Axys...Axys... evil... flowers...” Mear was breathing very fast as he was talking, “And...and they are ruining your Dads crops! You gotta go help out!”
“This sounds terrible! I’ll go see him right now!” Axys ran off in to his dad, Pete’s farm.
“Hmmm, how’s progress?” asked Regius, an evil prince, trying to take over the world. “Very good sir!” squeaked the little boy. “Over 20 percent has been taken over Pacifico Island.”
“WHAT!?!?!?” Regius boomed. “You are to slow. I have no need for you.” Regius started chanting something and as soon as he finished a red and black portal appeared behind the boy. “Now be gone!” Regius pushed the boy into the portal. He started falling out of the sky and hit his head on the ground “Ow, my head!” the boy said. He was lying on the footpath. A girl with red clothes and a red hat walked by. “Oh, hey Mear! What’s wrong?”
Axys ran to his Dad as he saw three big evil-looking plants stuck in three crop places. Axys saw as the once beautiful plants dropped to the ground, turning grey and black. “Axys!” his Dad called. “Can you help me? These weeds are turning loose on my crops! I spent months working on those! Hmm, that sword and shield on your back should do the trick. Just be careful, they throw these poisonous plants at you and when your close to them the unleash a powerful poison around you.” Pete warned. “I’ll be careful Dad! This will only take a minute!” As Axys got out his sword and shield he jumped over the little wall, covering the once beautiful plants. He started charging at one of the weeds when the weed started throwing the plants at him. He quickly dodged them, and jumped, did a flip and slashed his sword. The force was too much for weed as it hit the floor, exploding in a burst of poison. Axys started to feel more confident about him and jumped over the fence to get to the other weeds. He did the same to the other three. As he finished, he watched all over the empty spaces as they started to fill with the crops that were originally there. “Nice job son! My crops are back like nothing ever happened to them! By the way, where did you learn those moves? From Chucker?” Pete asked. “No, he is still asleep! It must run in the family,” Axys replied. “Hm, well maybe you can go further into the source of these wretched weeds! They keep growing more and more to the north,” Axys’s Dad explained. “I’ll open the gate to the north right now! Follow me.” He said as headed to the gate. An old man, Pete’s friend came up and gave him a blue gem. It was shining in the sun and looked as beautiful as the flowers. “Here,” croaked the old man. “Take this, a good luck charm! It will give you the luck you need! Keep it safe!” The old man finished off. But Axys was in a rush and quickly said thank you and ran off. “Such a brave kid...”
As Axys and his Dad reached the North gate clouds where covering the sun. “Well son, this is where I leave you,” Pete said as he looked into the sky breathing in the air. “Just be careful! As I told you, more and more of those weeds will appear. And I believe they get nastier and nastier.” He said. “I will be O.K Father! The Lord will guide me!” Axys said excitedly. This was going to be Axys’s first adventure away from home. “I’m sure he will. Now get going!” Pete called as he waved to Axys as he ran through the gate. As Axys reached the end of the trail he was in the Pacifico Forest. As he walked against the lush green grass he saw two sides to go. On his right there was some sort of an ancient temple that had cracks in it. The door closed with no knob. On his left was a trail leading to another part of the forest. As he walked to the trail leading to another part of the forest, something had hit him in the back that was as painful as a stab by a knife. He looked around and saw as the lush grass turned into rotting brown. Not these guys again, he thought. There was about two weeds, looking at him evilly. He ran around a tree, got out his sword and shield and attacked. He jumped as another one of those disks came flying and him and slashed his sword at one of the weeds. But to his surprise, it still was up. My dad was right, they do get stronger, he thought as he had to hit the weed a dozen times before falling to the ground. As he finished of the other weed, the grass turned green again and grew the flowers again. He followed the trail till he saw a long river with clear water. "What's this?" Axys said, staring into the bottom of the river. Yes, it was very clear! So clear that you couldn't even see the water! Axys looked around. No bridge, he thought. Axys stepped in the water. "Whoa!" He cried, splashing around in the water. "There's water?!?"
